Mr. Ron Wait is the County Board’s member of the Health Board, however since my election I have been attending the meeting as a private citizen.
This Monday’s meeting revealed several new items, perhaps items which I would not have knew except by my personal attendance.
First, the Health Board released “revised” minutes from 2010 closed session minutes regarding grievance reports against Health Administrator Crawford and her subsequent resignation. Second, the Health Department has contacted the Sheriff’s Department regarding the swap/purchase of some retiring sheriff squad cars. The Health Department has a 2002 Impala with 156,000 miles and a 1998 Chevy Lumina with 99,000. It is thought that newer squad cars would be an economical means of upgrading their fleet. Previously the purchase of a third vehicle was tentatively approved by the Health Department Board. Perhaps a sheriff’s squad would be cheaper than the $10,000 maximum being sought for a used vehicle in the local used car market.
