1. Based upon the newly approved referendum, the Boone County Veterans Assistance Commission will receive $25,000 from the county’s general funds as was requested by the VAC. A separate trust fund for the VAC will be set up by the Treasurer. The vote was unanimous.

2. The county board will voted unanimously to have a letter sent to the Illinois Tollway Authority opposing the closing of any bridges in Spring Township   See the letter by clicking on the following:  http://www.boonecountywatchdog.blogspot.com/2013/05/boone-countys-letter-to-tollway.html

3. Health Department’s request for a 2.25% increase in fees for food licenses/inspections and well/septic inspections fails. 4. At the last minute, a request to consider applying for a grant to study stray voltage from Wind Turbines was discussed. No formal action could be taken because this item was not on the agenda. However “based upon the discussion” the administration may or may not apply for the grant. The deadline is May 17, 2013

I learned on Friday that Boone County did not apply for the grant.
